We have a lot of October babes, so one more time: Good Morning and happy birthday to all of our Pumpkin Patch babies (also known as October babies.)

· October is Pastor’s Appreciation Month! We may not be worshipping all together, but let’s find a way to celebrate our Senior Pastor and staff Pastors for their hard work, as they continue to minister to us through the pandemic and other hardships of 2020.

· On behalf of Pastors Bruce and Karin Wall, the ministerial staff and the entire GMCC family we’re excited that you’re here, and we all say “welcome into this place”

Small groups are up and running. They are the third Saturday of every month. In this time of social distancing it is more important than ever to keep in fellowship and interact with brothers and sisters in Christ. If you haven’t attended before, now would be a good time to start. If you do not know which group you are in ask any Deacon, leave a comment on fb live today or call the church at 617- 282-0685

· Covid 19 is going to be with us for the foreseeable future. As citizens of these united states of America and as citizens of the Kingdom of God, Philippians 2:3 states that “in humility” we are to think more highly of others than ourselves.

· Wear a mask, if not for yourself then for someone else.

PRAYER CONCERNS

PPE, strength for the medical teams, stress on families, homelessness, decisions about reentering school,

· the unemployment rate and the upcoming flu season.

· For property owners as well as tenants impacted by the rent moratorium

· Small businesses who are trying to stay viable

· Restaurants struggling to remain open as the weather changes.

· For the needs of our Codman Park friends.

· Pray that the Lord would keep our voting rights safe and that no one would succumb to voter suppression tactics.

· Make sure you AND those in your circle of family and friends vote. Make a plan now. Help each other with a ride to the polls. Know in advance where your polling station is. It may have changed.

· Pray for Boston Praise Radio and TV’s expansion and that it brings essential news information, culturally relevant Christian content.

· Pray that God would bring the right people with the right motives and resources to BPR/TV. Give Pastor Bruce and advisors wisdom regarding who he gives station access to.

· Pray for the family of Sister Mary Stallworth and Angela Stallworth.

· GMCC is once again applying to the Community Preservation Association for funds to rehab the exterior of our church building. Please pray DAILY for a favorable outcome on our proposal.

· Remember the 3 W’s when it comes to the pandemic:

WASH your hands often

WIPE down counters, tables, packages, door knobs, shopping carts and any other place the virus can attach itself to! It could save lives.

· Tomorrow, Monday Oct. 12 there will be a Zoom planning meeting for Elders, Pastors and Deacons to plan out the Thanksgiving outreach. We will be meeting again soon. · Don’t let up on your own personal safety precautions:

· 1. Wear masks when outside. 2. Wash your hands a lot! 3. Continue to social distance. Limit who you surround yourself with. Remember any of us could have the virus and be asymptomatic and unknowingly bring the virus back to a loved one. 4. Wipe down counter tops, table, stoves etc., at least twice a day with disinfectant. 5. Take your shoes off at the door. 6. Try not to bring the outside in the house with you. If you are running out of wipes or household disinfectant there are some quick easy ways to make your own. You can check Pinterest, DIY or just google the subject.

· SPEAKING OF MINISTERING IN OUR COMMUNITY: We met via Zoom last week on this very subject. The final determination was to involve as much of the GMCC community toward making our annual Thanksgiving a success this year. It will be different this year, but still doable. One difference of note will be that all meals will be delivered. There will be no dining at the church this year. · Pray that the accurate story would be told about the protests in Kenosha Wisconsin.

· Romans 12:15 says to rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep. Now the family, friends and the nation are mourning the passing of our brother in Christ Chadwick Boseman. We rejoiced as he brought the highest of quality productions to us on the screen. Thank you for Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson, James Brown, Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, Message from the King and our beloved King T’Chilla in Black Panther. You worked harder as a dying man than many work in good health. Rest in Peace and may your legacy live on.

As citizens of these united states of America and as citizens of the Kingdom of God, Philippians 2:3 states that “in humility” “ we are to think more highly of others than ourselves.” Unless you have a medical reason that prevents you from wearing a mask, please for the next person, WEAR A MASK! If you have a condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, you may be at a higher risk, if so, you want to consider staying safe inside.

One way we can reenter this area of ministry is by starting to collect small personal items to be bagged along with gloves and masks for our friends in Codman Park. We are in the collection phase of this outreach, so please contribute the following needed items if you can; feminine items, deodorant, disinfectant wipes, soap, hand sanitizer, socks, large zip lock bags and bottled water. Items can be dropped off at the radio station on Friday nights between 6-8:30 pm.

Good Morning!

· Lord help us to be grateful for each breath you allow us to take; each step we make. May we allow our steps to be guided by you. May we be thankful for our health, strength and for our family’s. · Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Florida,Texas, South Carolina and Arizona as they are experiencing a spike in Covid 19 cases. Don’t let up on your own personal safety precautions.

· 1. Wear masks when outside. 2. Wash your hands frequently 3. Continue to social distance. Remember any of us could have the virus and be asymptomatic and unknowingly bring the virus back to a loved one. Keep gatherings small even though I know the temptation is great to enjoy loved ones and friends after such a long time of separation.

· There are free testing sites throughout Mass. If you believe you should be tested please take yourself to one of the free testing sites. You do not have to be symptomatic to get tested. Many of the health centers and minute clinics are testing for free. Some require an appointment so call ahead.

· During this time of separation we as pastors and leaders continue to pray for you and yours. We pray for ways to minister in our community. Our outreach team misses very much the Friday evenings spent ministering in Codman Park. One way we can reenter this area of ministry is by starting to collect small personal items to be bagged along with gloves and masks for our friends in Codman Park. Examples of things needed are feminine items, deodorant, disinfectant wipes, soap, hand sanitizer, socks, large zip lock bags and bottled water. Items can be dropped off at the radio station on Sunday mornings, while Pastor, Pastor Hobbs and Eric are live in the studio. Friday nights just prior to prayer meeting between 6-7:00 pm things can also be dropped off.

· Happy Juneteenth Everyone! For those who don’t know, Juneteenth commemorates the day that Union General, Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas to let some 250,000 slaves know that The Emancipation Proclamation had been signed into law on Jan.1. 1863, thus ending slavery. They did not receive this information until June 19thth 1865. That’s right! You do the math. Almost 2 ½ years later they were made aware of their freedom.

· The virtual bookclub will resume contact this Wednesday June 3rd at 7pm. We will be discussing next steps. We have not chosen a new book or activity yet. · Greetings on this Lord’s day. On behalf of Pastors Bruce and Karin Wall and the entire GMCC family,we are so happy that you have chosen to be an active part of your church body during this pandemic.

· Prayer is needed now more than ever. Even though things seem to have turned a corner in terms of infection rates we still have a ways to go. Remember that anxiety that you felt in the pit of your stomach a month ago? Draw on that now to remind yourself of the importance of prayer. WE ARE IN A BATTLE and it is not over. We invite you to 3 opportunities to pray with us. You do not have to be a gmcc member to take part in any of these options:

· Last but not least we have just concluded the reading of the book FerVent by Priscilla Shirer. We highly recommend it. If you’d like an opinion on the experience feel free to ask, Glynette Scott, Karin Wall, Michele Porter, Lauren Wise, Nyesha Smith, Annia Gabriel, Candace Dolor or Rosheena Jones. We are on a two week break while we learn to apply the prayer strategies that we learned in our reading. We’re looking for other recommendations or fun activities.
